Galina Petrova - pianist

Galina Petrova — Russian pianist , soloist and ensemble performer. Honoured Artist of Russia (2001), Moscow Government Prize laureate (2003). Her mastership is distinguished for “superb piano mastery combined with wonderful music intellectuality and artistic charm” (“La Voce del Popolo”).Got her music education at the Special Music School named after K. Bajseitova (Alma-Ata) and at the Moscow State Conservatory. Her tutors were A. Isakova, V. Merzhanov, T. Gajdamovich. Performs at the major concert halls of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, cities of Russia, Ukraine, CIS countries. Toured of South Korea, Japan, the USA, Australia, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Turkey, China, Poland, Croatia, countries of Balkan Area and of the Baltic area, and others.

She participates in major Russian festivals and cultural events – “Moscow Stars”, “Russian Winter”, “Talents of Russia”, Days of Russian culture in different countries. Performed in International festivals in Chicago, Zagreb, Split, Sorrento, Napoli, Melbourne, Yeoncheon DMZ and many other festivals. Took part in the “Millenium Concert” at the Grand Hall of the UN General Assembly (New York, 2000).

Has made recordings for CD s released by “DML-classics”, “Naxos”, “Classical Records”, “Gold Club”, etc.

Held master classes in South Korea, Japan, Croatia, Australia. In 2001 she was elected to join Petrovskaya Academy of Science and Arts (St. Petersburg) as its Corresponding Member.

Performed with Moscow City Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic”, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Turkey (Ankara), Zagreb Chamber Orchestra, Chamber orchestra of the Vatican City, etc. Played with famous conductors.

Is the partner of violinist Maxim Fedotov in all his chamber concerts. Critics call the duet “Fedotov-Petrova” one of the most harmonious ensemble of contemporaniety. The musicians have expanded the limits of their genre with their special style, dynamics, and also with new “exclusive” repertoire. “Musicians with a spirit of tiger”, “the best Moscow duet” (“The Independent Newspaper”), “brilliant Russian virtuosos” (“Nice Matin”).
